I am so blessed and grateful for my life and the journey it has taken me on, from working my business to creating a life of time freedom that most people only dream about. As an entrepreneur, I have been able to replace my JOB income where I traded my time for money into building a residual income that grows bigger and bigger each month.
I can only owe it to my upbringing…
As a native of Panama City, Panama, I cam to the United States as a child and was raised by my grandparents in Harlem (New York) as the oldest of seven children. I am very family oriented and love people. I grew up in a church where all the adults were my role models. You may have heard the saying, “It takes an entire village to care about each young person.” That was certainly true of our community.
At an early age, I earned various honors of excellence. I received sales training from my grandmother who used to sell books on the streets to raise money for our church. I was engaged in groups and various youth organizations where I learned critical skills that prepared me to be the leader that I am today. Those skills instilled the drive and competitiveness to be the best I can be at everything I do, to make a difference, and to impact the lives of many people, which is a huge passion of mine. After graduating, getting married, having two beautiful children in my early 20’s and completing business school, I landed a new career working as a computer programmer and data entry clerk. Unfortunately it didn’t pay enough to support my lifestyle, my dreams and my ministry to help people.
So, I ventured into direct sales back in the early 80’s and found out that I actually loved traditional marketing. I started making more money with my part-time business than I was with my full-time salary, so I fired my boss because they would not fire me. The idea that I could be home with my two children and be a stay-at-home mom, going on school trips, being a den mother, etc. was a dream. Not everything came easy. During that time, my then husband and I decided to go our separate ways. That didn’t stop me, though. I continued pursuing my big dreams as a single parent with my two children. Life was great – travel, lifestyle, overseeing my destiny, and generating a six-figure income for the first time. My children had the best of all worlds, having a mother who was always there. The rest of that drama is contained in my book, Your Journey to Change.
Fast forward… I met my soul mate, Kenny Watkins, who was a vice-president at one of the major banks in the US. We were married the next year and have had a great life ever since. Kenny was downsized twice and then we decided we needed to be a full-time stay-at-home couple and grandparents to our four grandchildren.
Today, we spend much of our time with them going to church, taking vacations and spending quality family time.
People always ask me what I owe my success to. My answer is my belief in God, and I’ve been a faithful tither.
My ultimate motivating factor is that when you help enough people get what they want, you will automatically get all that life has – spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially – with God’s help! Money isn’t everything… but it’s right up there with oxygen, plus I know that money allows people to have the one thing that they have the very least of – TIME.
See, you only live once and then you die...
I really want you to think about that statement.
You live for a while and then you die, and there is no coming back. There is no REDO button that you can hit and try all over again. The present is right now, and the future is not promised.
That’s why I want to make the best of each breath. I want the best of what this life offers. You should want the same. You should be striving to better yourself constantly.
The financial success, the dream and the time freedom!
I’m really excited to meet you, to learn more about you and to help you on your journey!
